Today I noticed something unusual in my walk through the garden. Most of my favorite bloomers were extraordinarily long and in the salvia family. I went back through the pictures and put a full length pencil next to the blooms to show comparatively. Here are my favorites bloomers for fall:
camelia
camelia
pink salvia
shrimp plant
cuphea
yellow salvia
Look at that bloom!!!
mexican sage
chinese hat
another variety of mexican sage
lantana 2 varieties
yellow angel trumpet
cardinal spire
this is a pass-along summer bean?
giant celosia
Amazing, right? So, even though the leaves are dying and falling there are still some beautiful bloomers this time of year. I want to leave you with the "find". Who doesn't love ladybugs? They are the gardeners best friend. I found this little guy tucked in the mexican sage bloom. It was day after a cold night.
Happy Gardening and Happy Thanksgiving!
